My stylistic mistake, Michael. By "militarized", I meant "more militarized" than police authorities in the West. Of course militsiya is neither a military police (we have it inside Armed Forces, it's called VSP) nor the Internal Troops (which is something similar to U.S. National Guard or field subdivisions of French Gendarmerie). Feb 12 edit
[edit]Corrected my own edit mistake. I was writing about the Internal Troops issue (claimed by NYT), not about Chernihiv events. And people, the neutrality of that Chivers article is widely disputed - watch out! Best wishes, AlexPU
- Would not it be better to rename this Ministry of Interior of Ukraine or Ministry of Interior (Ukraine), as it seems to be the official mane in English? I can not possibly think of someone searching for MVS; still, MVS could redirect at Ministry of Interior of Ukraine Compay 00:03, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- Second that. --Irpen 00:33, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- Third that, although the name should be Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Ministry of Interior might cause people to cofuse it/or its functions with the Department of the Interior. --Berkut 14:36, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Getting lessoned in manners now...

This article is a mess, needs to be fixed
[edit]- @Yulia Romero and DDima: Given the new police reform, this article has become incomprehensible. It reads as a bunch of stuff about the old militsiya, but that's gone. My understanding is that the ministry is to remain, but that the new police service will be independent from it. It will be overseen by it, not run by it. My suggestion is to do the following. First, split off stuff about the old militsiya force into a new article on that force. Second, split off relevant information to National Police of Ukraine. Third, clean this article up so it describes the ministry as it is to run now, rather than the old police force. Can anyone more knowledgeable assist me with this? - To assist, I've created Militsiya (Ukraine) as an article to compile stuff about the old force, so as to keep it separate from the new force. RGloucester — ☎ 05:59, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
Yes, I agree this article should describes the ministry and not an old or new police force. Unfortunatly I lack the willpower to clean up this article. I recently patched up Security Service of Ukraine; because of some good English sources that was quite an easy task. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:01, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
