Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We're glad to have you here. Just wanted to let you know--the image you just uploaded appears to be from a copyrighted source. Please add source information by going to the image page (type Image:NAMEOFIMAGE in the text box) and editing it to add source information. If your image is in the public domain, or licenced under the GFDL, then it's OK to use; if not, you have to claim fair use, which may or may not stand up. See Wikipedia:Copyrights for details. Best wishes, and ask at Wikipedia:Help desk if you have any questions. Yours, [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]]
This seems to be a copyright image: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap040718.html
You've also uploaded images of the Whirlpool galaxy and others that seem to be copyrighted. Unfortunately these probably can't be used on Wikipedia. -- Curps 02:46, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Hi, Freelancer lsf. I'm the one who removed your Whirlpool Galaxy image, after an anonymous user discovered the source and made a note of it. The images you're contributing are really quite beautiful, but you have to understand that an image can only be placed on the Wikipedia if it is explicitly released under the GFDL or a compatible license. Could you either obtain permission from the artists you're taking the image from or get images from public-domain sources? You seem to know where to look! --Ardonik 02:58, Jul 29, 2004 (UTC)
