Favorite Team?
[edit]It seems that the favorite team comment in the Tampa Bay Section comes without any real source. Due to this being an opinion, can anyone provide a quote of when he said this. I think I may have heard him say this myself but I think that this needs a citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.2.227.39 (talk) 03:41, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Invisible
[edit]Is the turning invisible thing really true?
Sure

http://www.s-t.com/daily/08-96/08-01-96/d05sp179.htm
Well, there's pages and pages of it here:

It was a big deal. It ruined that spring training, caused turmoil within his team, and trailed him the rest of his career.
Superstitions
[edit]About half of the Superstitions section has nothing to do with superstitions. Someone should reorganize it. --Andland 21:07, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Not only did Wade Boggs eat only chicken, during the season he had a 14 day chicken menu schedule that included "Lemon Chicken" twice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.124.204.66 (talk • contribs)
adding a reference to his chicken cook book would work in this section i think, i just couldn't figure a good way to do it..
Dates
[edit]Shouldn't this article (and similar ones) have information on when he belonged to which teams? For example, the only mention of his stint in the PawSox is when the Longest Game is mentioned.
Margo Adams Scandal?
[edit]Boggs was my favorite player growing up, but I don't think he was the same--as a player or as a fan favorite--after the Margo Adams scandal. Without being tabloid-like (and keeping in mind this is a biography of a living person), could something about the Adams story be said here?71.207.134.48 15:57, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I agree with your assessment and therefore added a brief synopsis. Tardevil (talk) 02:34, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

"Shoot from the hip"
[edit]Removing the sentence Boggs is known for coining the term "Shoot from the hip." as a Google search reveals no such thing. SixFourThree (talk) 21:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree
Finest Season?
[edit]In the opening, 1987 is listed as his finest season, how is this determined and is there a source that proclaims this? He had a career high in homeruns that year, but had more hits in 6 other seasons than in 1987, higher batting average in '85 and '88, higher OBP in '88, and went to the WS in 1986. In addition, he had more walks and runs in 3 other seasons than in 1987. I feel that any of his seasons between 1983 and 1988 would be a career year for 99% of all other players, and it is impossible to say one was better than another based in what appears only on his homerun total. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.82.228.170 (talk) 00:43, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Hope it's okay, but I removed this sentence. Did a little investigating, and all of the revisions (finest years) made by 89.26.167.87 on 3 November 2007 have been removed except for this one. This appears to be a subjective statement as the reviser appeared to prefer homeruns over average or any other statistic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.82.228.170 (talk) 01:04, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Who is Hennig?
[edit]I assume Mr. Perfect's name is Hennig, but it's not clear here:
As a baseball player, Boggs made an appearance for the professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1988. He appeared in a vignette with wrestler Mr. Perfect in which Perfect played baseball. The two remained good friends afterward and 19 years later in 2007, Boggs inducted the late Perfect into the WWE Hall of Fame. In the DVD The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect, Boggs related how Hennig saved his life, carrying Boggs to help after he had severely cut his leg climbing over a broken barbed wire fence during a hunting trip.[25]

Drinking Problem?
[edit]I think the stories about Boggs' drinking needs to be addressed. The tale is that Boggs had several dozen beers on a cross country flight. The story seems to have become an urban legend. Did Boggs really drink in John Bonham-like proportions? If he did, was he ever in rehab? Ever admit to a problem? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.89.103.116 (talk) 15:56, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

All-Century Team
[edit]The article states that Wade Boggs was nominated for the MLB All-Century Team. The following page on the Major League Baseball website lists the players nominated for the All-Century team. Wade Boggs is not listed: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/history/mlb_history_moreinfo.jsp. Unless anyone can find a source that confirms he was nominated, I will remove the statement from the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmrat (talk • contribs) 20:51, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
