Talk:Errol (disambiguation)

From VfD:
There's really nothing at either of these pages that's not covered at Errol, and there's plenty of room there for both of them. We lose the little chart for the owl, but it doesn't add any real information anyway. Very silly to have 3 separate pages. -R. fiend 21:37, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete the (disambiguation) page, keep the Harry Potter character page and turn Errol into a disambig page; include also the character from the Roland Rat TV series, a dragon from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series and the fact that it is occasionally used as a first name. Oh and move the Scottish village info to Errol, Perth and Kinross. Got all that? -- Graham ☺ | Talk 21:47, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Um, not really. Why not throw all that information onto this one page? It seems there isn't enough information on any one of these things to warrant an article to itself. What's this phantom "information" on the Scottish village to be moved? It currently says almost nothing. The Errol (Harry Potter) page is a single sentence and doesn't need its own article. However, I encourage you to add the other meanings to this page. If it gets too crowded to be manageable we can worry about it then. That time is a long way off, methinks. -R. fiend 22:00, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I agree with cramming all of that into Errol until one or all of the sections gets too big. Split it up when we need to. 'Delete the disambiguation page, make the rest redirects.—Rory ☺ 00:31, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)
- One might wish to add Errol Flynn to that disambiguation. In his heyday, he was responsible for providing many a unsuspecting baby with his name, merely by charming from afar some moon-eyed housewife.. Rhymeless 06:19, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Turn Errol into the disambiguation page. Delete Errol (disambiguation). Keep Errol (Harry Potter). Add Errol Flynn to corrected disambiguation page. --[[User:Allyunion|AllyUnion (Talk)]] 03:02, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Why bother keeping the Errol (Harry Potter) page? It's two sentences. The disambiguation page at a minimum will have to say almost as much as the separate article. There is really no point in having a disambiguation page link to an article which has no more information than what's on the disambiguation page. That's one reason why these three pages were so ridiculous to begin with; the Errol page and the Errol (disambiguation) page said exactly the same thing about the village. Likewise the chart on the owl's page reiterates information given in the two sentence entry. It's silly and a waste. Keep it all on one page until that page gets big enough to warrant a break-up. I don't think it will ever happen. -R. fiend 05:44, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete them both! --GRutter 08:46, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
