The Wikipedian Curia is a private emergency council. Seldom used, it is needed only in times of great distress.
The Curia should be assembled by a Wikipedian who needs great help but does not want it to be known to the general public. He therefore calls trusted friends, editors, or sysops to the Curia for a discussion.
The Curia is meant for public use in the sense that troubled users can use it. There can be only one caretaker at a time. Do not attempt to wrest power from the caretaker; bad things could happen. Only he can access it. Users who want to use the Curia, go away unless it is a private emergency. Now.
The Curia is currently being managed by PhoenixX.

Rules and Guidelines
[edit]- A Curian Assembly must be composed of at least 10 members.
- The Curia should be assembled in private using a program other than Wikipedia (ex. Yahoo Messenger).
- The decision of the Curia will be posted on the Curia's talk page.
- When making a decision involving votes, there must be a majority for the act to push through.
- In extreme cases, the Curia may be granted emergency powers (sysop status, permission to block, unblock users, permission to edit locked articles, permission to promote to/ demote users from sysop status without voting) but so that these powers may not be abused, the Curian Assembly must agree to take this with a unanimous vote (all 10 members). In addition, all other members of the Curia must vote a majority of 9/10 for the Curia to take on these powers.
