How to cite the report?

[edit]

I've added a link to the Fitzgerald Report itself. I scanned it for a "recommended citation" hint but didn't find one. I don't often cite Queensland government documents; if you do, please replace the reference with a better one. Thisrod 04:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any patriotic Queensladers out there...

[edit]

Who'd like to help get this thing expanded, please jump on in. I'd do so myself, but I was about 2 at the time and don't have any real clue where to start with something this massive. BigHaz 11:56, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, not too patriotic. The major finding of FRC was the corruption of Lewis and Herbert. The other convictions were fairly minor, by today's standards, and the article does not reflect this properly. E.G., Harvey took her husband to the Formula 1 race, and paid for the $5k tickets with the ministerial credit card. Seeing as she was the minister for transport, and had organized the race, some argument can be put forward that it was government business. The husband's presence made it wrong. The race organizers should have given her the tickets, considering she got the whole event going.

The corruption of Herbert and Lewis had been common knowledge since the days of Whitrod, more than 10yrs beforehand. The FRC cost $30M, merely to find out what was already known by a lot of people. Petersen and particularly Hinze were the obstacles to reform.203.213.60.118 (talk) 22:28, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Miscellaneous comments

sex accusations was a very big part oof te inquiry as it was discovered that there were a number of illegal brothels in Queensland. (21 alone in the Metropolitan area). Electoral boundaries 'Gerrymander' was a key emphasis of the Fitzgerald Report and needs more attention in the Wikipedia article. WHEN did this happen?
