Massacre
[edit]I moved the massacre text to a different page, which allows separate treatment of the town and the massacre. martg76 Sept 26, 2004
Bleiburg is, as stated, a town with a sizeable slovene population. Under the terms of article 7 of the Austrian State Treaty, the town is supposed to be bilingual, with bilingual town markings. (the effect to which this article is actually in power is a different matter) Shouldn't the slovene name of Pliberk be at least mentioned in this article? 213.172.254.126 15:10, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- It most definitely should. WorldWide Update 21:07, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Yugoslavia
[edit]"Between 1918 and 1920, Bleiburg was occupied by Yugoslav troops, but, in spite of the sizeable Slovenian minority in the surrounding villages, remained with Austria."
I believe, at the time, at least in Pliberk/Bleiburg and adjacent towns, Slovenes were a majority. 153.5.60.89 22:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Croatians
[edit]It does not say that these killed civilians were Croatians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Josinj (talk • contribs) 14:56, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
It doesn't because among the victims were also Serbs and Slovenians, as there were not only Ustasha and domobrans, but also Chetniks and members of Slovenian White guard. Also, I dispute the word ethnic clensing in the text, as it was primarily ideological conflict. The fact that there were more Croats than Serbs and Slovenians, well, it only speaks for whom they fought in the war.212.200.71.231 (talk) 07:40, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
