The result of the debate was - Merge/redirect
This is a stub about a middle-schooler (now a sophomore in high school) who won the National MathCounts competition. Contains very little information. The winner of a single math competition, even if it's the nation's foremost middle school math competition, is not notable in and of itself. To my knowledge, no MathCounts champion has yet achieved significant fame, at least not outside the math competition community. Aerion 21:55, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Weak delete. Someone may be able to persuade me otherwise. [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 22:34, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Redirect and mini-merge into MathCounts#National_Champions. It could be of interest to someone looking for a pattern in the previous champions, although we don't seem to have any information on any of the other ones. - RedWordSmith 22:53, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)
- Merge/redirect. Andre (talk) 23:04, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect. P Ingerson 01:32, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge what, exactly? There is very little actual information. Aerion 19:55, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect wouldn't be the worst thing, but a middle school student doing a difficult thing is still not notable in general on his own (unless he's Haley Joe Osmet, I guess). Geogre 01:40, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Best of wishes for him in later achieving notability for other things -- when he does, this'll make a nice footnote on his page. --Improv 19:29, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge/redirect. Wikipedia is not paper, and there's no point in simply deleting this article. We can add the info to MathCounts#National_Champions, and try to find more on the other champs. --Fermatprime 23:46, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
