North American use
[edit]The CVH was also produced in a North American version about the same time, for the Ford Escort, built in the Dearborn Engine Plant. They shared a lot of basic engineering but the final development I believe was largely separate. I think we should add some North American info to this page but at the moment I am working mostly off of memory so I am reluctant to edit immediately.... Pmeisel 04:28, 15 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Added some info, but the North American usage lasted in the Escort somewhat longer, I just can't find the exact reference at the moment.
1.1 CVH in the UK
[edit]The 1.1 CVH engine was also used in some UK spec i.e. RHD Escort vans during 1983/84. They were apparently sold to a few fleets and the dealers knew nothing about them!
I've only seen one at close quarters a few days after delivery, the recipient was less than pleased as all the other ones supplied his colleagues in that particular batch had 1.3's
2.3 and 2.5 engines
[edit]These engines are of the Pinto/Lima design, not the CVH design. This information is already covered in Ford Pinto engine amongst other places.
Was there a Fuel Injected CVH 1.4 ?
[edit]The issues relating to the 1.4 version of this engine appear to refer specifically to carburettor editions. Was there a fuel injected edition, and would this have solved some of the problems such as those of power deficiencies resulting from the original lean-burn carburettor and low vacuum pressure on an engine with worn parts ? --Minotaur500 00:40, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Valve stem seals
[edit]The hardening of valve stem seals is a common problem across many engine types and the tools to replace valve stem seals without removing the head gasket (spark plug to air compressor, or feeding a rope into the cylinder) are standard mechanic procedures and not of significance to this engine type. Accordingly I have removed this section. 50.206.120.10 (talk) Bruce Peterson —Preceding undated comment added 21:32, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
