P10s as Psi Cops?
[edit]There's a statement made that "Psi Cop field agents are usually chosen from teeps with a rating of P-10 or higher." This is misleading, as it implies that Psi Cops themselves can be P-10s. Last I checked, a Psi Cop had to be a P-12. If memory serves, the Bloodhounds were often P-10s, perhaps this is what was meant, but I don't think they were exactly considered Psi Cops. So while it is true that field agents were usually chosen from P-10s and higher, I'm not sure the statement as it stands is completely accurate. I don't want to edit it myself, as it's been a couple of years since I've really done anything related to B5, but if someone with a bit more recent experience with the series would please check this... --Braindrain0000 19:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- This is why we need to source our text. If someone had identified what statements led to this text, we could easily check it. As it is, someone has to plow through everything mentioned on this subject to uncover the evidence. If someone does this, I beg them to cite the episodes, scenes, and possibly even quotes that confirm whatever the results are. Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 02:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Surnames
[edit]I think there's a mistake on the surnames comment in the Purpose and Operation section. Ivanova's surname comes from her father, but is feminine form because of Russian surname conventions (her parents are both surnamed "Ivanov", for instance, the masculine form, as noted in the episode where she leads the White Star attack against the hybrid Shadow-Earth Force ships, her "I am the hand of justice/death" speech"). ~Dweren —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.123.229.142 (talk) 19:27, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
References
[edit]I've added a {{refimprove}} tag to this article because as far as Wikipedia can tell, this entire topic is made up from the imaginations of B5 fans. (I know that's not true, but that's not the point.) Waxing eloquent about our fannish interests without any attempt to cite sources is a major reason why so many serious Wikipedians want to delete all this fictional-universe stuff as unencyclopedic. I ask the regular editors of this article who have put so much effort into writing prose to do a little sourcing of all this information, so we don't end up having pointless discussions like the ones above based solely on memory. Thank you. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 01:01, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Most of the stuff about Psi Corps comes from Lyta talking in "The Gathering" (pilot) and the various telepaths in "Mind War". The 3 options comes from Talia and Susan talking by the bar in "Midnight on the Firing Line". Andrew Swallow (talk) 00:21, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
