As a child, I kept an ex-Punahou library edition of the 1976 World Book Encyclopedia by my bed, and read it for fun. Looking back, I thought I was the world's nerdiest kid, until recently I found out that a friend and her sisters would have competitions to see which could find the most interesting encyclopedia article, before the time expired!

Wikipedia is along the same set of impulses for me. I enjoy general knowledge for its own sake, Wikipedia helps fill the need. I'm happy to contribute to such a worthwhile project. The main areas I expect to contibute to are:

• Hawai'i (and Hawaiian Music)
• Foreign Cinema (particularly Bollywood, Hong Kong Cinema, and Korean Cinema)
• Early history of Christianity
• History of all kinds
• Pop Music - I enjoy many kinds, particularly shoegazer rock, indie pop, indie hip-hop, soul, and anything reminiscent of the Beach Boys. I also enjoy foreign pop music, especially Serge Gainsbourg, Cambodian Rock, and Trattoria-associated bands

My principle edits have been:

• Creating the biography of Philippine actor/presidential candidate, Fernando Poe, Jr.
• Creating an entry for the Bollywood movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
• A substantial edit of the history of the Mongols (which could still use more work)
• Adding information to Slack-key guitar

I was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i, and lived in Oakland, California for a ways. I currently live in Shanghai.
