A history of Lapon is being requested in the main article from C. 1969 - C. 1992. May I suggest anyone interested in contributing to this or other U.S. submarine and naval articles, read the book 'Blind Man's Bluff: The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage'? I found it very enlightening. I would proceed to transcribe/attribute parts of it myself, but my Wikipedia editing skills are few to nonexistent....
